Today, laptops and PCs are widely used in almost every sector of employment to perform tasks that would take a human being a lot of time to accomplish! These devices are able to execute functions differently, depending on a user’s preferences. Moreover, majority of households have the opportunity of owning a laptop or PC, unlike in the past where this was viewed as prestige. Hence, in this article, I will enlighten you on how you can use these devices at home, school or at work and make significant income working online
You might not be aware that by using the internet, you stand a higher chance of earning more than what you’d earn if employed. Above all, you equip yourself with stupefying knowledge and information; and as we all know, information is power! I am surprised with actions of students in universities and the unemployed lot of graduates, who after completion of a semester or at the end of their course completion; decide to sell their valuable laptops at considerably cheap prices, just to get entertainment monies! This is common in Kenyan universities – a move that could only be termed as inexpedient. These graduates/undergraduates perhaps are convinced that the use of laptop devices end there – and are very much convinced that they are ready for the job market. I disagree with this and believe that what makes sense is ‘thinking of doing things differently and move away from the tralatitious ways of thinking’.
Though this could be true to some extent, I’d rather take my time and determine what’s best for me before jumping onto conclusions with negative impacts. Today’s world is very complex, and requires creativity and problem solving skills in all sectors of the economy to be able to survive. It is not about the level of skills you have gained that determines who you become, but what you use your skills to accomplish! In a previous article, I reiterated that Kenyan graduates shouldn’t worry about unemployment, since I am very aware that it’s not through employment that we are able to achieve success. This is very true as I try to urge my fellow privileged Kenyans who are educated but unemployed to embrace technology and make use of it to better their lives. It is wise to conform to the statement “You can only make a good man better, but it’s almost impossible to transform a bad man to a good one.”
In an interview with Wired, Nick D’Aloisio, developer of the news app Summly states that “young people are better placed to spot market opportunities online compared to older entrepreneurs”. Reading through my posts in this blog, you will notice how you might have wasted opportunities that would have turn your ideas to success without too much hustle and strain. But hey, do not worry, I am here to shine a light on you by furnishing you with all the information you need to succeed. Nowadays, more people are using the internet to do just about anything. Therefore, I encourage young people to use the internet productively and start projects that are beneficial to the greater community, instead of wasting too much time visiting job posts and perusing job advertisement classifieds in search of jobs that have become elusive.
One thing I really love to do is encourage the youth. By reading my profile alone, you can get a glimpse of the benefits of having a creative mind; hence, understand how you can use this knowledge to build wealth online. The laptops and PCs you ignore in your houses could help you determine your destiny in the online world. There are very many ways of making money online, some of which are authentic and some that are out to rip-off your money. Many of us have been told that you need capital to be able to start a business. However, the internet does not support such an ideology, of course depending on what you want to do. From an entrepreneur’s viewpoint, the internet provides you with ways and resources, which if used well, will totally be beneficial to whatever you choose to pursue.
There is no point of making payments to anyone in form of job applications so that you get a job. Most jobs that require that are out to scam you of your hard-earned-cash. You expect to work and get paid as opposed to pay and work! With little or no financial requirements, you can absolutely start a project that if run well, and with the right strategies in place, will flourish and become successful. In the coming articles, I will explain to you how these “somehow impossible dreams” can be achieved. But most importantly, I’d advice readers to use the internet efficiently to their advantage. Most people visit social networking internet sites and afterwards log off. Take your time and think if you’ve been doing the right thing then make a sound decision based on how you understand. Always remember though that the internet has turned millions of hapless individuals to wealthy individuals and you are no exception.
It’s time you change how you think and put what you have learnt through your course into practice. Don’t wait to be get employed, unless you want to build a poor country. D’Aloisio stated that: “The whole world of knowledge is literally in your pocket and that wasn’t there years ago," he said. "It means as a young person if you’re ever curious about something you can literally type it into Google and learn about it, because everything is there for free. Sometimes it takes me to sit down and think what that means and implies about the world.” – ‘the guardian’
