Why you might be on the brink of blogging failure

It is told that when an idea presents itself, you should pursue it to the maximum. Though this is the case, I advise you to make a sound decision on this. Sometimes the ideas that come up are not what you would expect to be the ‘aha!’ moment. That is why you might try to do several things in life and most of them will actually stall.

In case you have started a blog or you are in the process of thinking about how to start blogging, take time
and think whether this is the right calling for you.

I have met people who have made the decision to take on projects for the purpose of making big money within a short period or are interested in getting the project going. This is not a wise decision. Diving into something without a plan only creates pressure on your side, since you are only interested in the forward momentum created by the project.

Creating such a momentum isn’t bad at all.

But under such circumstances, I wouldn’t advise you to follow that approach. On most instances when someone wants to start a blog for the sole purpose of getting money off it, they are struck by the inevitable as soon as reality kicks in. Their blogging idea fails to materialize and within no time, their projects fizzle and soon you won’t have anything to show for your efforts.

Looking at the big issue here, you will find that bloggers who start blogging by simply picking on a random idea will most likely fail. They pick ideas not out of inspiration or passion, but simply because they just landed on it. If these ideas face any challenge or resistance then they easily die out.

You would be better off considering pursuing a long-term idea that you are passionate about and one that you feel you’d commit to for a couple of years. This way you are more likely to follow through the project. Apart from that you will have more reasons to ensure that your projects succeed.

A couple of years back I used to write academic assignments, of course helping students write their assignments. However, I really wanted to share my knowledge on how I make money working online. It took sometime before I made the decision that this was what I really needed.

I had a vision and I really wanted to pursue.

I loved the idea and a few months ago, I decided to blog and share with my readers how I make money from my blog. This was an inspired idea that I was ready to commit to.
To be able to meet my intended goals, I needed to come up with a proper strategy that would make my readers want more of what I shared with them.

By following my strategy and with the passion I wanted to blog with; I knew that I would generate lucrative income from a variety of streams. Variety is a good aspect and that’s what I like most. I certainly knew that I would be able to monetize my blogging efforts in one way or another. I knew this would take time but I was not afraid of waiting for the right moment. By sharing ideas on how I make money from my blog, I definitely knew that someone like you would be interested in learning how I manage to make money, and for this reason you would take your time to read on.

One small secret I want to share with you is that once a project kicks off in the right way, new ideas that align to your project will come about. These ideas will probably have two outcomes. The first outcome is that the ideas may lead to the failure of the whole project. The second outcome is that the ideas may lead to further success of your project.

When such ideas arise, you need to think deeply and before making your decision.

There are three options that may guide you here. You may choose to ignore these ideas and avoid getting distracted at that point. You may also decide to pick on the ideas or make a decision not to pick on the ideas completely.

Back to sharing my blogging experience, you will be amazed to know that I chose to ignore the ideas and reserve them for a later time. But with time, I went back to try some of the ideas I had ignored just to see what worked well and what did not work. By this I mean ideas that were capable of helping me generate reliable income, as well as ideas that added value to my readers.

At one point, Steve Jobs quoted the following:

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”

A good idea is that you can choose to trust in your own basic intelligence. If you choose to take time while making core decisions and combine that with passion or skill, you are most likely to pick on ideas that aren’t meant to fizzle out. However, failure to do this will only present high risks of picking on projects that are disjointed and incongruent.

Please note that if your main motive for venturing into blogging is money, and you aren’t inspired by any idea that you are passionate about, you are in big trouble. You will fail completely. You will more likely be knocked off by distractions that you can’t avoid.

Additionally, if you try to force yourself into blogging due to pressures caused by financial strain, you may still fail to produce inspired work. Looking at this picture, it means that you will NOT be able to entice your readers or customers to engage with you. More importantly, you may discover that no one really shows interest in your project which may appear to provide no or less value.

To be on the safe side and get the best out of your blogging experience, you need to know what you want. You need to have goals and projections. You need to come up with a strategy that guides your business. You should never start anything for the sole reason of getting something going. Doing this only propagates the problem.

Also, if you start a project and it fizzles out, you are more likely to quit. Quitting doesn’t help you solve the problem. It only escalates it since every time you think of starting another project; you are more likely to encounter similar pressure. So, avoid the thought of always starting something for the purpose of getting something going on in life. Try to identify ideas, focus on building relations, build your business and finally the money aspect will come later
